This is an example of a banana bread recipe, using brown sugar as the main ingredient of the batter. The color of this cake is very light brown and has the consistency of banana bread. But it's also rich in flavor, which makes you want to eat more than just one slice!

Ingredients,

1 can sweetened milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips (1/2 cup each) (we prefer to make them from pure cocoa powder!)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda or baking powder

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 cup packed light brown sugar, sifted

1/2 cup granulated sugar (see Note 2 for details on granulated sugar)

11/2 tablespoons butter (softened with cold water until softened)

1/4 cup powdered sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract (available at your local drugstore brand.)

1 large egg

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

 granules/scoop/combineers

1 1/2 cups unsalted butter pieces (for greasing the bottoms of the pans, and making sure you do not over-beat it)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 8 inch square baking pans with parchment paper. Pour eggs into two of the prepared pans and scrape off any stray yolks. Add sugar in both colors and mix well. Whisk together flour, baking soda and spices, then add the mixture to the remaining mixture. Gradually fold in brown sugar until no lumps form. Divide batter evenly between the pan, filling about 1/2-inch of space. Bake on preheated 350 degrees F until a knife inserted comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Transfer pan to a cooling rack and refrigerate 15 minutes before slicing. Continue chilling until completely cooled, about 30 minutes. Place in refrigerator to chill overnight. With very sharp food processor, pulse to finely chop up frosting and cookies. Put on top of the banana bread and let stand for 10 minutes. While bananas are still frozen, heat lemon juice in 8 ounces small saucepan over medium heat and pour into the empty bowl. Let stand for another 5 minutes and then serve warm. Don't forget to bring back some fresh baked banana bread for serving!
